NASCAR WHELEN ALL-AMERICAN SERIES - FRIDAY, AUGUST 17, 2007
NASCAR WHELEN ALL-AMERICAN SERIES NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, August 17th, will represent week 17 of 23 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. This night will be the 16th of 21 consecutive weeks of Friday night NASCAR racing at Stafford Motor Speedway.

· Main events will commence at approximately 7:30pm following qualifying events. Qualifying events will begin at 6:15PM. Spectator gates open at 5:15PM. All times and schedules are tentative and subject to change.

· Total posted awards for the August 17th NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events are over $18,000.

· Stafford Motor Speedway’s handicapping system will be in effect. Drivers who qualify for the feature via their heat race will be assigned main event starting positions based upon money won from the previous three events. Any driver not qualifying through heat races, must qualify via a consolation race.

· Woody Pitkat (SK Modified®), Ryan Posocco (Late Model), Glen Reen (SK Light), Rick Lanagan (Limited Late Model), and Megan Bienkowski (DARE Stock) were the most recent feature winners from the August 11th New England Dodge Dealers 150 feature events at Stafford Motor Speedway.

· Stafford Motor Speedway’s next event will be Friday, August 24th, Porter & Chester Summer Heat ,a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Event. Stafford’s SK Modifieds® will run 40 green flag laps, the Late Models will run 30 green flag laps, the SK Lights will run 20 green flag laps, the Limited Late Models will run 20 green flag laps, and the DARE Stocks will run15 green flag laps.

SK MODIFIED® DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, August 17th will represent race 15 of 21 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR SK Modified® division. The race will mark the division’s 455th race at SMS since its inception in 1982.

· Woody Pitkat’s feature win on August 11th was the 10th of his career at Stafford Motor Speedway, and his fourth conseuctive SK Modified® feature victory of the 2007 season. Pitkat’s 10 career feature wins places him in 11th place on the all-time SK Modified® feature winners list.

· In 14 SK Modified® feature evens run to date, there has been 7 different winners: Lloyd Agor (4/29), Frank Ruocco (5/4, 6/8), Keith Rocco (5/11, 7/13), Bo Gunning (5/25), Woody Pitkat (6/1, 6/15, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/11), Zach Sylvester (6/29), and Ted Christopher (7/6). 18 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 25 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· Scoring season best finishes on Saturday night, August 11th were: Brad Hietala (2nd), Jeff Malave (3rd), and Woody Pitkat (1st).

· 2007 Reliable Welding & Speed SK Modified® rookie class watch from August 10th: Wade Mattesen finished 12th, Richie Pallai, Jr. finished 16th, Shelly Perry finished 19th, Ron D’Alessandro finished 20th, and Fran Siana finished 21st.

· Stafford Motor Speedway’s SK Modified® division is the track’s premier weekly NASCAR division. Hence it is designated as the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Feature Division.

LATE MODEL DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, August 17th, will represent race 15 of 21 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Late Model division. The race will represent the 351st Late Model feature to be run at SMS.

· Ryan Posocco’s feature win on August 11th was the 27th Late Model feature win of his career at SMS, and his third consecutive Late Model feature win of the 2007 season. Posocco’s 27 career feature wins places him three wins ahead of Jim Peterson as the division’s all-time winningest driver.

· In 14 Late Model feature evens run to date, there has been 8 different winners: Corey Hutchings (4/29), Scott Foster, Jr. (5/4, 6/8), Tom Fearn (5/11, 6/29), Jim Peterson (5/25), Scott Cook (6/1), Ryan Posocco (6/15, 7/27, 8/3, 8/11), Mike O’Sullivan (6/7), and Woody Pitkat (7/20, 7/27). 16 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 26 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· Scoring season best finishes on Saturday night, August 11th were: Bobby Leone (13th), Dillon Moltz (4th), Ryan Posocco (1st), and Billy Snow, III (8th).

· 2007 Reliable Welding & Speed Late Model rookie class watch from August 11th: Dillon Moltz finished 4th, Corey Hutchings finished 9th, Mark St. Hilaire finished 15th, and Doug Blowers, Jr. finished 20th.

SK LIGHT MODIFIED DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, August 17th, will represent race 15 of 21 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR SK Light Modified division. The race will represent the 32nd SK Light Modified feature to be run at SMS.

· Glen Reen’s feature win on August 11th was the 6th SK Light feature win of his career at SMS. Reen’s 6 career feature wins places him in third place on the all-time SK Light feature winners list.

· In 14 SK Light feature evens run to date, there has been 6 different winners: Chris Matthews (4/28, 5/11, 5/25), Glen Reen (5/4, 6/29, 7/13, 7/27, 8/11), Brit Andersen (6/1, 7/6, 8/3), Matt Gallo (6/8), Glenn Griswold (6/15), and Alan Provost. 18 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 27 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· Scoring season best finishes on Saturday night, August 11th were: Heather DesRochers (2nd), George Nocera, Jr. (5th), and Glen Reen (1st).

· 2007 Reliable Welding & Speed SK Light rookie class watch from August 11th: Heather DesRochers finished 2nd, Josh Sylvester finished 3rd, George Nocera, Jr. finished 5th, Mark Bakaj finished 8th, Raymond Grassetti finished 9th, David Webb finished 11th, Alan Provost finished 12th, Rich Hammann finished 13th, Kyle Spencer finished 14th, Paul Colla, Jr. finsihed 15th, Aaron Goff finished 16th, Harry Wheeler finished 18th, Keith Franklin finished 19th, Joe Allegro, Jr. finished 21st, Chris Bakaj finished 22nd, and Scott Nordman finished 24th.

LIMITED LATE MODEL DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, August 17th, will represent race 15 of 21 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Limited Late Model division. The race will represent the 53rd Limited Late Model feature to be run at SMS.

· Rick Lanagan’s feature win on August 11th was the 5th Limited Late Model feature win of his career at SMS. Lanagan’s 5 career feature wins places him in a tie with Sean Foster for third place on the all-time SMS Limited Late Model feature winners list.

· In 14 Limited Late Model feature evens run to date, there has been 5 different winners: Rick Lanagan (4/28, 6/15, 6/29, 7/27, 8/11), Andrew Durand (5/4, 5/11, 6/8, 7/13), Michael Nadeau (5/25), Sean Foster (6/1, 7/20, 8/3), and Bill Davis (7/6). 15 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 21 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· Scoring season best finishes on Saturday night, August 11th were: David Capriati (7th), Rick Lanagan (1st), and Shawn Thibeault (13th).

· 2007 Reliable Welding & Speed Limited Late Model rookie class watch from August 11th: David Capriati finished 7th, Lori-Jo Rzeszutek finished 8th, Jeff Hubbell finished 11th, Shawn Thibeault finished 13th, Peter Martin finished 14th, and Barry Thomasen finished 16th.

DARE STOCK DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, August 17th, will represent race 15 of 21 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR DARE Stock division. The race will represent the 242nd DARE Stock feature to be run at SMS.

· Megan Bienkowski’s feature win on August 11th was the first of her career at SMS. Bienkowski becomes the 83rd different driver to have won a DARE Stock feature event at Stafford Motor Speedway.

· In 14 DARE Stock feature evens run to date, there has been 9 different winners: Jeff Jolly (4/28, 6/15), Norm Sears (5/4, 6/8), Bill Dunn (5/11, 7/6), Steve Berardi (5/25), Carla Botticello (6/1, 7/13), Dean Casagrande (6/29), Matt Chiarizio (7/20), Kyle Nosal (7/27), Dan Flannery (8/3), and Megan Bienkowski (8/11). 18 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 23 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.
