NASCAR WHELEN ALL-AMERICAN SERIES - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2007
NASCAR WHELEN ALL-AMERICAN SERIES NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, September 7th, will represent week 20 of 23 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions. This night will be the 19th of 21 consecutive weeks of Friday night NASCAR racing at Stafford Motor Speedway.

· Main events will commence at approximately 7:30pm following qualifying events. Qualifying events will begin at 6:15PM. Spectator gates open at 5:15PM. All times and schedules are tentative and subject to change.

· Total posted awards for the September 7th NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events are over $18,000.

· Stafford Motor Speedway’s handicapping system will be in effect. Drivers who qualify for the feature via their heat race will be assigned main event starting positions based upon money won from the previous three events. Any driver not qualifying through heat races, must qualify via a consolation race.

· Ted Christopher (SK Modified®), Corey Hutchings (Late Model), Josh Sylvester (SK Light), Sean Foster (Limited Late Model), and Jim Brice (DARE Stock) were the most recent feature winners from the August 31st NASCAR Whelen All-American Series feature events at Stafford Motor Speedway.

· Stafford Motor Speedway’s next event will be Friday, September 14th, a NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Event. Stafford’s SK Modifieds® will run 40 green flag laps, the Late Models will run 30 green flag laps, the SK Lights will run 20 green flag laps, the Limited Late Models will run 20 green flag laps, and the DARE Stocks will run15 green flag laps.

SK MODIFIED® DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, September 7th will represent race 17 of 20 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR SK Modified® division. The race will mark the division’s 457th race at SMS since its inception in 1982.

· Ted Christopher’s feature win on August 31st was the 83rd of his career at Stafford Motor Speedway. Christopher is Stafford Speedway’s winningest SK Modified® driver with 37 more victories than his closest competitor, Bo Gunning, who has 46 career victories.

· In 16 SK Modified® feature evens run to date, there has been 7 different winners: Lloyd Agor (4/29), Frank Ruocco (5/4, 6/8), Keith Rocco (5/11, 7/13), Bo Gunning (5/25), Woody Pitkat (6/1, 6/15, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/11, 8/24), Zach Sylvester (6/29), and Ted Christopher (7/6, 8/31). 18 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 28 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· Scoring season best finishes on Friday night, August 31st were: Michael Bennett (24th), Scott Bouley (7th), Ted Christopher (1st), Glenn Griswold (6th), Brad Hietala (2nd), and Jim Larsen (8th).

· 2007 Reliable Welding & Speed SK Modified® rookie class watch from August 31st: Wade Mattesen finished 11th, Fran Siana finished 17th, Richie Pallai, Jr. finished 21st, Jim Smith finished 22nd, Michael Bennett finished 24th, and Stash Butova finished 25th.

· Stafford Motor Speedway’s SK Modified® division is the track’s premier weekly NASCAR division. Hence it is designated as the track’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Feature Division.

LATE MODEL DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, September 7th, will represent race 17 of 20 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Late Model division. The race will represent the 353rd Late Model feature to be run at SMS.

· Corey Hutchings’ feature win on August 31st was the 2nd Late Model feature win of his career at SMS. Hutchings’ 2 career feature wins places him in a 14-way tie for 36th place on the Late Model all-time winners list.

· In 16 Late Model feature evens run to date, there has been 8 different winners: Corey Hutchings (4/29, 8/31), Scott Foster, Jr. (5/4, 6/8), Tom Fearn (5/11, 6/29, 8/24), Jim Peterson (5/25), Scott Cook (6/1), Ryan Posocco (6/15, 7/27, 8/3, 8/11), Mike O’Sullivan (6/7), and Woody Pitkat (7/20, 7/27). 16 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 27 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· 2007 Reliable Welding & Speed Late Model rookie class watch from August 31st: Corey Hutchings finished 1st, Dillon Moltz finished 3rd, Doug Blowers, Jr. finished 8th, Kyle Nosal finished 13th, and David St. Amant finished 15th.

SK LIGHT MODIFIED DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, September 7th, will represent race 17 of 20 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR SK Light Modified division. The race will represent the 34th SK Light Modified feature to be run at SMS.

· Josh Sylvester’s feature win on August 31st was the 2nd SK Light feature win of his career at SMS and his second consecutive feature win. Sylvester’s 2 career feature wins places him in fifth place on the all-time SK Light feature winners list.

· In 16 SK Light feature evens run to date, there has been 7 different winners: Chris Matthews (4/28, 5/11, 5/25), Glen Reen (5/4, 6/29, 7/13, 7/27, 8/11), Brit Andersen (6/1, 7/6, 8/3), Matt Gallo (6/8), Glenn Griswold (6/15), Alan Provost (7/20) and Josh Sylvester (8/24, 8/31). 20 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 28 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

LIMITED LATE MODEL DIVISION NOTEBOOK

· Friday night, September 7th, will represent race 17 of 20 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Limited Late Model division. The race will represent the 55th Limited Late Model feature to be run at SMS.

· Sean Foster’s feature win on August 31st was the 6th Limited Late Model feature win of his career at SMS. Foster’s 6 career feature wins places him in a tie with Rick Lanagan for third place on the all-time SMS Limited Late Model feature winners list.

· In 16 Limited Late Model feature evens run to date, there has been 5 different winners: Rick Lanagan (4/28, 6/15, 6/29, 7/27, 8/11, 8/24), Andrew Durand (5/4, 5/11, 6/8, 7/13), Michael Nadeau (5/25), Sean Foster (6/1, 7/20, 8/3, 8/31), and Bill Davis (7/6). 16 different drivers have recorded a top-5 finish, and 21 different drivers have recorded a top-10 finish.

· Friday night, September 7th, will represent race 17 of 20 for Stafford Motor Speedway’s NASCAR DARE Stock division. The race will represent the 244th DARE Stock feature to be run at SMS.

· Jim Brice’s feature win on August 31st was the second of his career at SMS. Brice’s two feature victories places him in a 16-way tie for 39th place on the all-time DARE Stock feature winners list.
