(Stafford Springs, CT)—The 2013 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Stafford Motor Speedway has drawn to a close, and now its time to honor the best at the 44th Annual Stafford Motor Speedway Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 22nd. This year’s Champions Awards Ceremony will be held at Maneeley’s Banquet Facility in South Windsor and a crowd of over 500 guests is expected to be on hand as the Connecticut half-mile hands out its post-season awards.
In addition to recognizing the 2013 track champions, other prestigious awards, including Most Popular Driver, the SPAFCO Race Chassis & Parts Rookie of the Year Awards, the R.A.D. Automachine DARE Stock Rookie of the Year, and the UNOH Ultimate Track Mechanic of the Year Award will also be presented. Stafford Motor Speedway will also recognize the top-20 finishers from the 2013 SK Modified®, Late Model, SK Light, Limited Late Model, and DARE Stock points standings.
Headlining the night’s festivities, Woody Pitkat will be recognized as the 2013 SK Modified® Champion, which is his first career SK Modified® championship after finishing second in the SK Modified® standings four times since the 2007 season. Adam Gray was also a first time champion in the Late Model division with a season for the ages that saw him record 16 consecutive podium finishes. Tony Membrino, Jr. will be honored as the SK Light champion, which will be his second career Stafford championship, Josh Wood came out on top of a tight 3-man race to win the Ltd. Late Model championship, and Dave Secore will be honored as the DARE Stock champion.
Stafford Motor Speedway Most Popular Driver candidates include Todd Owen, Woody Pitkat, and Keith Rocco from the SK Modified® division, Adam Gray, Jim Mavlouganes, and Woody Pitkat from the Late Model division, Geoff Boisjolie, Troy Talman, and Ronnie Williams from the SK Light division, David Arute, D.J. Burnham, and Duane Provost from the Limited Late Model division, and Jeremy Lavoie, Doug Phelps, and Johnny Walker from the DARE Stock division. The Most Popular Driver winners were voted upon by fans who submitted Most Popular Driver Ballots from the PitStopper Magazine to the Speedway Office throughout the 2013 season.
SPAFCO Rookie of the Year honors will go to Joey Cipriano from the SK Modified® division, Cory Casagrande from the Late Model division, Chase Dowling from the SK Light division, and Austin Bessette from the Limited Late Model division. The R.A.D. Automachine DARE Stock Rookie of the Year award will be presented to David Comeau.
The UNOH Ultimate Track Mechanic of the Year Award will be presented to the registered Stafford mechanic who received the most votes from his fellow competitors.
