Starting this Friday, June 26th, Stafford Motor Speedway will provide live replays directly to the cell phones of race fans through the cell phone app Periscope. All fans need to do is download the Periscope app on their cell phones and follow Stafford Speedway to view all instant replays that are played on the in-house TV system throughout the night.
“We are excited to bring instant replays directly to race fans in the stands” said Stafford General Manager Mark Arute. “We always strive to increase fan interaction and we believe this is a great new product that will allow fans to see what happened on track just moments after it happened.”
Periscope is an app that allows live broadcasting to cell phones in real time. During each caution period the Stafford race day media team will activate the Stafford Speedway Periscope page and stream all replays directly from the in-house TV system. Race fans will now be able to view, in real time, the same instant replays the track announcers and race director watches after each on track incident.
“All-access has been our focus thus far in 2015,” continued Arute, “we launched post-race Facebook interviews earlier this year and we now post candid interviews with the top 3 finishers in multiple division to our Facebook page each week. Instant replays through the Periscope app is just another step in our all-access mission.”
In addition to the live broadcasting of replays, any video posted on Periscope is archived for a few hours following the post. This allows for fans to log back into Periscope to view any replays they may have missed.
Fans can search for the Periscope app in their cell phone app store or by visiting Periscope.tv on their cell phone browser. To see post-race interviews with top 3 finishers across multiple divisions each week, log onto our Facebook page at the conclusion of each race night. Tonight, June 26th, the Stafford Speedway Facebook page will have interviews from the top-3 finishers in the Dare Stock, SK Modified, and Modified Racing Series.
