The 2019 season was year 6 of the partnership between NAPA Auto Parts and Stafford. NAPA continued as the title sponsor of the Spring Sizzler and Fall Final events as well as the NAPA SK 5k. The Gambler’s Challenge returned for the NAPA SK 5k event with the #50 team winning the race for the third consecutive season and second consecutive time with Ronnie Williams as the driver. In victory lane Williams pulled the chip with the Gambler’s Challenge pot of $5,450 split evenly among the 11th through 20th place finishers.
Open Modified racing returned to Stafford Speedway with 3 races; the Open Modified 80 won by Keith Rocco, the Twisted Tea 80 won by Ryan Preece, and the Bud Light 80 won by Ronnie Williams. The Ladies Challenge returned for a second season, where women associated with Stafford race teams raised money to set a starting lineup for an 8-lap race with Stafford’s Street Stock teams supplying the cars. Stafford Speedway pit reporter Nicole LaRose outlasted last year’s Ladies Challenge winner Debbie DeSanctis driving Travis Hydar’s #11 car while over $18,000 was raised for various charities.
During the season Alexandra Fearn became the winningest female driver in Stafford history, surpassing Stacey Botticello who held the mark with 10 career feature wins. The 2019 season also saw Vault Productions film and produce a 6 episode reality web series that premiered in January 2020 featuring life in Stafford’s SK Modified® division with behind the scenes looks with drivers Michael Christopher, Jr., Glen Reen, Keith Rocco, and Ronnie Williams.
The 2019 season saw three repeat track champions with Ronnie Williams in the SK Modified® division, Tom Fearn in the Late Model division, and Jeremy Lavoie in the Limited Late Model division. Teddy Hodgdon was the SK Light Modified champion and Zack Robinson was the Street Stock champion.
