(Stafford Springs, CT)—As the 2026 season at Stafford Speedway reaches its halfway point this Friday night, July 10th, 3-time Limited Late Model champion Jeremy Lavoie finds himself once again leading the standings in a push for what would be his fourth track title. Lavoie and the #6 L&S Equipment team have typically gotten off to slow starts in seasons past but they have been a model of consistency in 2026, scoring top-10 finishes in every race run thus far along with capturing their first win of the season in the extra distance 30-lap race that featured the largest Limited Late Model purse ever awarded at Stafford.
“We’ve had a good start to the season,” said Lavoie. “Usually we start out kind of slow and we don’t get a win or two until later in the season. We’ve had a good, consistent start and as a team we’ve been very happy with it. To get a win early in the season was nice to be able to check that box. We had the 30-lapper circled on our schedule and that was actually the night we got our first win and that race was a big points night and a big paycheck night for us. I really have to thank Lu-Mac’s Package Store and WTD Logistics for putting up the money for that event and showing their support for our division. It’s a big night for everyone and that race is the one that everyone wants to win so to be able to win that race was really nice.”
Stafford’s Limited Late Model division has seen a great deal of parity among its ranks the past several seasons with 11 different feature winners in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons. 2026 has seen 7 different winners through the first 8 races with Lavoie among those feature winners. Lavoie is also the only driver in the division to have recorded top-10 finishes in each of the first 8 races, a fact that he and his team are very proud of.
“We’re proud to be the only car in the division that’s been in the top-10 every week, even with a wreck in there we still managed to stay on track and get a top-10 that night,” said Lavoie. “Sometimes it’s a battle of attrition or the races go green to checker but at the end of the day you have to be there for the checkered flag to get the best possible finish that you can. We have to stay consistent and stay on top of our game to be in as tip-top shape as we can because there’s a lot of cars that can win on any given night.”
Lavoie and his team have won the track championship three times (2018, 2019, 2023) and after finishing third in 2024 and second in 2025, they are in a prime position to capture a fourth championship. The key for Lavoie will be to maintain the level of consistency he has exhibited in the first half of this season.
“We’re going to prepare the car as best we can just like we have the first half of the season and stay the course,” said Lavoie. “We have good equipment and a great car, it’s just up to me as the driver to perform the best 20 laps that I can. Once you start getting some good finishes, the handicap starts you further back in the field and some nights the race goes green to checker where the leaders can run away with only 20 laps. We’ve always had the speed in the car, it’s just a matter of how the night plays out and how the 20 laps unfold.”
Lavoie has a host of supporters behind him that help keep him racing up front every Friday night.
“I have to thank all my sponsors, L&S Equipment, Bobcat of Connecticut, Gene’s Ford and Chevy, Aspen Hill Farm, Maconi Setup Shop, Kobos Landscaping, Perleoni & Son Landscaping, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, and Speedway Sign and Graphics. I also have to thank my Dad, my Aunt and Uncle, my girlfriend Kaitlyn, my stepdaughter Sophia, my Grandfather and everyone who has helped out in the past and who keeps us going every week.”
Lavoie will look for his second win of 2026 this Friday, July 10th, which is Arcari Motor Sales Underdog Night. Arcari Motor Sales will provide a $550 bonus to each 5th place finisher and a $55 bonus to each 15th place finisher across Stafford’s five weekly divisions, resulting in an extra $3,025 for Stafford drivers to go racing for.
